The Benedictine University women's basketball team pulled away from visiting MSOE in the second half to record a 56-44 conference win at home on Saturday afternoon.
Allison Jarvis connected on a three-pointer with 6:15 remaining in the first half to tie the score at 7-7. MSOE led for most of the first quarter but a layup from
Megan Duzansky at the end of the first quarter tied the score at 13-13. Benedictine was down by six midway through the second but a three from
Hailey Bachmann right before the close of the first half to put Benedictine in front 26-25. Benedictine scored the first five points of the third quarter to open a six-point advantage but the visitors tied the score at the end of the third at 37-37. Benedictine again scored the first six points of the fourth and this time did not look back, leading by as many as 13 in the victory.
Benedictine shot 48.8 percent in the contest and connected on seven three-pointers. Jarvis finished with 13 points to lead Benedictine. Bachmann added 10.Â
Benedictine (9-8, 5-3 NACC) travels to Aurora on Wednesday night.
