Men's Hoops Slowed in Second Half at Wheaton

The Benedictine University men's basketball team was outscored 55-32 in the second half on Tuesday night, dropping a non-conference game at Wheaton.

Benedictine scored the first 11 points of the contest as four of the five starters cracked the scoring column early
- Wheaton was able to whittle the deficit down to three points with 13:43 left in the first
- Aidan Werth dumped in a three-pointer to again make the lead double figures at 26-16 with 11:03 to play in the half
- Benedictine led 48-40 at the break
- Wheaton opened the second half with an 11-3 run to pull even at 51-51 with 17:31 remaining
- Benedictine responded with seven straight ignited by a Noah Mason dunk
- Ryan Sammons put Benedictine ahead by eight at 66-58 with 10:58 to play
- The hosts again countered, using a 13-2 run to take the lead and kept adding on to pull away for the win

Benedictine shot 60 percent in the first half and finished the game at 56 percent
- 19 turnovers led to 29 points for Wheaton, who shot 59 percent in the second half and 52.6 for the game while holding a 33-26 advantage on the glass
- Ryan Tucker led five players in double digits by finishing with 21 points
- Mason finished with 13 points and eight rebounds while Sammons, Nathan LaPlant and Connor Glasgow all totaled 12
