The Benedictine University men's basketball team lost a low scoring affair to visiting Rockford at home on Saturday afternoon.

THE DETAILS
- Benedictine got off to a slow start, failing to score for the first 4:53, falling behind 7-0
- Benedictine trailed by seven but was able to come from behind and tie the score at 14-14 with 9:29 left in the half on a basket from Aidan Werth
- Ryan Tucker put Benedictine in front for the first time at 18-16 with 6:45 remaining
- Rockford led by six with 2:17 to go before Benedictine scored the final seven points of the half to lead 29-28 on a breakaway basket from Jakeem Cole in the final seconds
- The second half saw Benedictine build a 39-30 edge with a run of 8-0 completed by a three-pointer from Nathan LaPlant
- The visitors slowly chipped away but Benedictine was able to open a 53-42 edge with 8:25 left on another LaPlant three
- Benedictine scored just three points the rest of the way, shooting just 1-of-8 from the field as Rockford managed to gain the edge, taking the lead in the final minute

STAT LEADERS
- Benedictine shot 40 percent in the game while Rockford finished at 36.8 percent and held a 36-33 lead on the glass
- Benedictine was just 3-of-17 from three-point range in the loss
- LaPlant was the only player to reach double figures for Benedictine, finishing with 13 off the bench
- Ben Peacock and Connor Glasgow tallied seven each off the bench as the reserves scored 32 points
