The Benedictine University baseball team won a second consecutive game in Florida, taking down St. John Fisher 6-3 on Tuesday.
Benedictine wasted no time in taking the lead, scoring a run on an error in the bottom of the first. Benedictine led the entire way, breaking the game open in the fourth with four runs.
Kyle Campbell singled in a run,
Nic Castrovillari tripled home two and
Brennan Fisher lifted a sacrifice fly. St. John Fisher would draw within 5-3 in the eighth but a big RBI single from
Mike Budorick in the bottom of the inning accounted for the final.
JT Adams threw five innings to arn the win in his first start of the year.
Nathan Buehrer logged 2.2 while
Steven Byrne finished out the game for his first save. Seven players notched hits for Benedictine, who finished with 14. The top five in the order all collected multiple hits in addition to the ninth slot.
Zach Fell led the way with three out of the leadoff position.Â
