The Benedictine University softball team saw a five-game win streak come to an end, dropping two games in Florida on Wednesday.

Mount St. Joseph scored in five straight innings to pull away in the first game of the day, scoring four in the second to open the lead. Benedictine plated three in the bottom of the inning, one of which scored on an RBI single from
Morgan Bruno. Mount St. Joseph continued to pull away.
Mia Giammaresefinished 3-for-4 at the plate as Benedictine totaled eight hits.
ST. MARY'S 11, BENEDICTINE 3
St. Mary's scored eight times in the first inning to control the entire contest. Benedictine Benedictine kept the game alive with two in the fourth and one in the sixth but St. Mary's scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to end the affair.
Benedictine mustered just five hits in the loss.
Benedictine (5-3) wraps up the trip with two games on Thursday.
