Benedictine scored in all five innings to score a shortened win in the opener.
Haley Barnes set the tone in the first inning, tallying an RBI double.
Mckenzie Johnson struck out five in five innings to record the shutout. Benedictine finished with 14 hits.
Morgan Bruno and
Victoria Duszynski both notched three hits.
BENEDICTINE 11, EDGEWOOD 10
Benedictine capped a frantic comeback with three runs in the top of the seventh, scoring six unanswered to steal the sweep.
Benedictine trailed 2-0, 5-2 and 10-5.
Breanne Deutscher hit a two-run homer in the sixth to ignite the rally. Barnes also homered in the inning.
Mia Giammarese reached on a fielder's choice that drove home a run while the tying run scored on an error in the seventh. Bruno reached on a fielder's choice to cap the comeback.
Four different pitchers appeared with
Morgan Magnabosco tossing three blank innings to grab the win. Barnes and
Jasmine Lozano both notched thee hits. Six players accounted for the 13 hits.
Benedictine (17-13, 6-8 NACC) visits Alverno on Monday.
