The Benedictine University softball team dropped a pair onf one-run contests at MSOE in conference play on Saturday afternoon.
MSOE 1, BENEDICTINE 0
A tight pitcher's duel through the opener, MSOE scored the only run in the bottom of the sixth. Both teams finished with just four hits as the hurlers locked zeroes. McKenzie Johnson struck out nine in six innings.
MSOE 4, BENEDICTINE 3
Most of the scoring happened early in the contest.
Victoria Duszynski plated the first run of the game in the top of the first with an RBI single. MSOE came back with three in the bottom. Benedictine was able to tie the game with runs in the second and seventh.
Morgan Bruno laid down a sacrifice bunt in the second and Duszynski added another RBI single in the seventh but MSOE was able to walk off with the win in the bottom of the inning.
Haley Barnes went 3-for-3 at the plate.
Jasmine Lozano took the loss, working 6.2 innings.
Benedictine (12-8, 1-3 NACC) visits Dominican on Tuesday.
