The Benedictine University softball team continued the conference slate with a journey to Dominican, who plays in Rosemont, and suffered a pair of defeats.
DOMINICAN 11, BENEDICTINE 3
Breanna Deutcher and
Morgan Bruno put Benedictine ahead in the second inning with RBI singles and the lead reached 3-1 on a
Taylor Oppenhuis RBI single, but Dominican scored 10 unanswered to grab the win. Four runs scored in the fourth and five in the sixth to end the game. Deutscher notched two hits. McKenzie Johnson struck out seven in 5.1 innings of work but took the loss.
DOMINICAN 6, BENEDICTINE 4
Benedictine again built an early lead in the contest.
Victoria Duszynski notched RBI singles in the first and third as Benedictine led 2-0. Bruno and
Lauryn Olson knocked home runs in the fourth as the lead reached 4-1. Dominican tallied three runs in the fifth to grab the victory. Duszynski finished with three hits while
Haley Barnes and
Jasmine Lozano both picked up a pair.
Benedictine (12-10, 1-5 NACC) hosts St. Norbert on Saturday.
