The Benedictine University softball team ended the regular season with a doubleheader sweep over Aurora University at home on Sunday afternoon.

Haley Barnes lifted a sacrifice fly as the third batter in the bottom of the first inning to give Benedictine an early 1-0 lead. Aurora tied the score in the third but a single from

Jasmine Lozano with the winning run in the opener.
Mckenzie Johnson spun another complete game, striking out 10 while allowing just the single run on four hits. Benedictine tallied four hits in the win.
BENEDICTINE 7, AURORA 4
Most of the scoring was early and often. Aurora scored twice in the first inning and Benedictine followed with four in the bottom. Barnes singled home a run and Lozano singled home two in the inning.
Jenna Bartke added an RBI groundout. Aurora evened the game with two in the second before Benedictine took the lead for good with two more in the bottom half.
Victoria Duszynski and Lozano singled home runs. An insurance tally came in the sixth when Oppenhuis reached on an error.
Lozano earned the win in the circle, working the final four innings. The offense slugged 13 hits.
Morgan Bruno was 4-for-4 out of the leadoff slot. Lozano finished with three hits and three RBIs. Barnes and Duszynski both notched a pair of hits.
Benedictine (27-13, 16-8 NACC) will be the third seed in the upcoming NACC Tournament hosted by Aurora this week.
