The Benedictine University softball team scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to tally a 7-2 win over Lakeland and advance to the double elimination portion of the NACC Tournament.
Lakeland scored a run in the second and added another in the sixth to lead 2-0 before the outburst.
Jenna Bartke and
Taylor Oppenhuis tallied RBI singles to tie the game.
Lauren Bogard doubled home two to put Benedictine ahead and
Mckenzie Johnson added a two-run single in the inning.
Johnson did not allow an earned run an struck out nine in the victory. Benedictine banged out 11 hits. Bartke, Oppenhuis, Bogard and
Haley Barnes all finished with a pair in the 13th consecutive victory for the team.
Benedictine (28-13) faces Dominican at 6:30pm on Friday.
