The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team overcame an early three-goal deficit to score a dramatic overtime victory over visiting North Central, securing the program's first ever win over their area rival.

THE DETAILS
- North Central scored twice in the first four minutes including a man-up goal to lead early
- A third tally came with 7:44 left in the quarter to make the lead 3-0
- Luke Grant scored a man-up goal to start the Benedictine rally, finding the back of the net with 5:24 to go in the first
- Less than a minute later Oliver Hulbert brought Benedictine within 3-2
- North Central added a late marker to lead 4-2 after one
- Benedictine's defense shut out North Central in the second and third quarters
- Ben Sochaki scored man-up in the second with just 23 seconds remaining until the half to draw Benedictine back to within a goal
- Sochacki scored the lone goal of the third with 9:34 left to tie the game
- North Central took the lead early in the fourth and held the advantage until Sochaki scored again in the final minute to force overtime
- After forcing a turnover in overtime. Hulbert made the most of a fourth opportunity to score the game-winner with 1:50 on the clock

- North Central held a 36-28 advantage in shots
- Both teams put 16 shots on cage
- Benedictine scooped up 33 groundballs and were a dominant 14-1 in the faceoff circle
- Sochaki scored three goal and Hulbert two
