The Benedictine University baseball team opened a weekend in Indiana by suffering a loss to Franklin College.

THE DETAILS
- Benedictine scored single runs in the first two innings to open a 2-0 advantage
- Matt Santarelli led off the game with a single and stole second before scoring on a groundout from Mike Budorick
- The second inning saw Justin Nonnenmann and Hank Friedrich reach on errors 
- Cole Bush recorded a groundout to push the lead to 2-0
- Franklin plated three in the bottom of the third to take the lead
- Benedictine came back to tie the game in the top of the fourth
- Nonnenmann opened with a single and moved up on an error before scoring on another groundout from Bush
- Franklin broke the game open with six in the bottom of the fourth and three in the fifth to lead 12-3
- Benedictine got one back in the seventh on a double from Nic Castrovillari but Franklin plated three in the bottom to bring an end to the contest

STAT LEADERS
- Castrovillari finished with three hits as Benedictine totaled eight
- Spencer Geake added a pair
- Conner Kendall allowed three runs in three innings, walking one and striking out five
- Luke Hickey, Samuel Garland, Dalton Kostecka and Ryan Uscila all appeared on the mound
