The Benedictine University baseball team overcame a 5-0 deficit to record their first win of the season in Indiana, dispatching Ripon.

THE DETAILS
- Ripon scored four times in the top of the first and added another in the second to lead 5-0
- Carter Funk opened the fourth inning with a single and the first run scored on a fielder's choice from Cole Bush
- Two more runs scored in the fifth on the first homer of the season,a two-run blast from Spencer Geake
- Benedictine took the lead for the first time in the sixth inning with three runs
- Jake Petak singled home Preston Popovich and two runs scored when Jack Ryan reached on an error
- Ripon countered in the ninth with a pair of runs to lead again briefly at 7-6
- Funk played hero, calling game with a one-out two-run homer in the bottom of the inning to also score Nic Castrovillari and end the contest

STAT LEADERS
- Funk was the lone Benedictine player with multiple hits, logging a pair amongst the seven total
- Geake and Funk both knocked home two
- Matthew Purta started on the mound and allowed just one earned run over the first two innings
- Braden Behrens dazzled over six scoreless innings in relief, allowing just three hits while striking out four
- Jack Hayden came up with the win in relief, working the ninth
