Baseball Nabs Another Win in Florida

The Benedictine University baseball team recorded their fourth win in Florida, taking down St. Scholastica on Friday.

THE DETAILS
- Nic Castrovillari scored on a wild pitch in the top of the first to hand Benedictine and early 1-0 advantage
- St. Scholastica responded with three in the bottom of the frame to lead 3-1
- The lead held until Benedictine plated three in the fourth
- Justin Nonnenmann led off with a double and scored on a single from Jack Ryan
- Ryan stole second before coming across on an RBI single from David Kaminsky to tie the score
- Cole Bush, who singled in the inning, came around to score when Hank Friedrich singled to give Benedictine the lead
- The lead grew to 7-3 with three runs in the seventh
- One run scored on a balk and another on a wild pitch
- Between the two was an RBI triple from Spencer Geake
- St. Scholastica drew within 7-6 by scoring twice in the seventh and once in the eighth
- Benedictine put the game away with two in the ninth on a two-run single from Nonnenmann

- Benedictine finished with 14 hits in the contest
- Jason Gutkowski tossed six innings in relief to earn the win, allowing just one run while striking out four
- Five pitchers appeared in the game with Connor Kehoe collecting the save
- Castrovillari finished with four hits and three runs scored
- Friedrich, Geake, Nonnenmann and Ryan all posted two hits
