The Benedictine University baseball team continued the spring break trip to Florida, suffering a one-run loss to Beloit in a pitcher's duel.

THE DETAILS
- A tight contest throughout, Beloit scored the first run of the game in the top of the third
- The lead reached 2-0 behind a single run in the seventh
- Benedictine cut into the deficit with a single run in the bottom of the seventh
- Benedictine loaded the bases with one away and
Hank Friedrich coaxed a walk to score a run but a double play limited the damage to just one run
- Beloit tallied a needed insurance run in the top of the ninth to lead 3-1

Frank Magnelli was hit by a pitch to open the inning and moved up on a wild pitch
- With two outs Tommy Jusi recorded a pinch hit RBI single to score Magnelli but a lineout ended the game
