Men's Hoops Dropped at North Central

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University men's basketball team suffered a 74-60 loss to North Central College in non-conference action on the road Saturday night.

The Eagles struggled to slow down North Central in the first half as the Cardinals built a 25-point lead at 42-17 with 4:12 left in the half. North Central shot 60.9 percent in the first half and connected on 16 free throws. The Cardinals held a 47-30 edge at the break.

Benedictine clawed away at the deficit in the second half pulling within 12 on several occasions but no closer. Nate Green led Benedictine with 22 points. Jamison Montgomery added 11 as the only two players in double figures. The Eagles shot 38.8 percent from the floor in the contest.

Benedictine (3-6) returns to action out west with a game against UW-Oshkosh on Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. Central time as part of the Vegas Hoopla.
