LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's lacrosse team fell to Augustana 23-2 on Tuesday night.
Augustana was in control from the outset, scoring five goals in the first 10 minutes. The Vikings led 14-0 at the half and built the lead to 16-0 before Benedictine struck for back-to-back tallies.
Hannah Payne and
McKall Pugliese scored unassisted goals.
Augustana held a 41-3 advantage in shots and controlled the pace of the game. With the win, Augustana clinched the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference title.
Tricia Baluyut made nine saves in net for the Eagles.
Benedictine (1-10, 0-7) will conclude the first ever season of women's lacrosse on Saturday against Mount St. Joseph at 12:00 p.m.
