LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's lacrosse team rolled to a 15-2 win over the Illinois Institute of Technology on Tuesday night.
Benedictine scored the first two goals of the game to open an early advantage.
Becca Gullett struck first just over three minutes into the contest. Just over a minute later
Jackie Andrews extended the lead to 2-0. Following a goal from IIT, Benedictine scored five straight to close the half, taking a 7-1 lead into the half.
Jessica McGinnis tallied the final goal of the half, just before the break.
The streak continued in the second half as Benedictine scored seven in a row including three in the first two minutes to force a running clock.
Benedictine held a 45-4 advantage in shots forced 41 turnovers.
Samantha Link scored three goals to lead the attack with Gullett and
Hannah Payne notching two apiece. Payne recorded 11 groundballs and forced six turnovers while recording five draw controls.
Benedictine (1-1) will travel to Concordia Wisconsin on Thursday afternoon to open conference play.
