The conference portion of the schedule opened on Tuesday night and five players scored in double figures as the Benedictine University men's basketball team pulled away in the second half to open with a win, dispatching Dominican on the road. Benedictine shot 62 percent in the second half and finished at 51.9 percent for the contest.
Trevor Montiel paced Benedictine with 16 points, adding six boards and five assists.
Cullen Cosme notched a double-double with 15 points and 10 boards. Benedictine held a 41-26 edge on the glass, notching 40 points in the paint and 15 second chance points.
Marvin Agwomoh kicked in 15 while
Andrew Stokes logged another double-digit game with 13 off the bench.
Nick Kosich contributed 12.
