The Benedictine University men's basketball team trailed at halftime, rallied to lead by double digits in the second half, but needed a late stop to hold off Dominican and claim their first conference win on the road.
Benedictine scored the first six points of the second half after scoring the final five points of the first half and opened a 13-point lead early in the second. The lead would swell to 15 and Benedictine led by 10 with 4:39 left but Dominican pulled within a single point before Benedictine was able to hang on.
Benedictine shot 50 percent in the second half and 48.4 percent for the game while finishing +10 on the glass.
Tanner Resch poured in a career best 22 while
Trevor Montiel logged his second consecutive double-double and third of the season with 15 points and 13 boards.
Drew Stokes contributed 13 points.
Benedictine (4-2, 1-1 NACC) will host Marian on Saturday afternoon.
