On the day the field was dedicated as
Kate Heidkamp Field the Benedictine University softball team logged a sweep of Alverno 8-0 and 7-1.
Benedictine led 1-0 after the second of the opener and scored in the final four at bats to record a shortened win.
Taylor Skraba homered and drove home three.
Morgan Bruno posted two hits.
Alexandra Loizon won her seventh game of the year, allowing just two hits with two walks and seven strikeouts in the five inning victory.
Four runs in the first inning helped
Jasmine Lozano in the circle in the second game.
Taylor Oppenhuis singled home the first run,
Colleen Schmit added a two-run single and
Madye Greenwood contributed an RBI single. Schmit drove home four runs. Lozano finished with three hits to help her cause, striking out nine.
