Jordan Carlquist hit a pair of free throws with 1.9 seconds remaining to lift the Benedictine University women's basketball team to a 76-74 comeback win at Rockford.
Benedictine scored four points in the final 30 seconds and used a key rebound on the defensive glass to record the win in a game that featured 12 ties and seven lead changes. Benedictine was down 36-31 at halftime and 57-53 entering the fourth.
Benedictine shot 53.8 percent in the final quarter and opened the game shooting 63.6 percent in the first quarter. For the game, Benedictine shot 43.4 percent despite battling foul trouble and being outrebounded by 13. The bench tallied 20 points.
Sophia Hardy led the way with 15 points.
Sierra Skack stayed hot, totaling 11 while making three three-pointers.
Autumn Rucker and
Megan Duzansky both logged 10 off the bench.
Benedictine (5-11, 5-2 NACC) has now won four of the last five games and will visit Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday.
