Alexander Corbett capped the 2024 football season by earning the final NACC Special Teams Player of the Week award.
Corbett returned a punt for a 45-yard touchdown as Benedictine streaked to a season ending victory.

Liam Heiges (Appleton, Wis.) have been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Football Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Nov. 11-17, 2024, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.
Offense --- Liam Heiges, fr., RB, Wisconsin Lutheran College
Heiges, a freshman running back, rushed for 176 yards on a career-high 33 carries and two touchdowns in the Warriors' 27-17 Lutheran Bowl win over Concordia Wisconsin on Nov. 16. He bookended the scoring for WLC with a 27-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and a one-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Heiges finished the season with 839 rushing yards, the most by a freshman running back in program history.
Defense --- Joey Alvarez, so., LB, Rockford University
Alvarez, a sophomore linebacker, tied his career-high with 19 tackles, including 16 solo tackles, on the road against Lakeland. Alvarez also posted a career-high 3.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and forced a pair of fumbles, both of which gave Rockford a short field and led to touchdowns on the ensuing drives.Â
Special Teams --- Alexander Corbett, sr., WR, Benedictine University
Corbett, a senior wide receiver, returned a Concordia Chicago punt 45 yards for a touchdown as part of Benedictine's 49-14 season-ending victory over the Cougars. He also caught a 20-yard touchdown pass in the win.
