A tight contest throughout, Benedictine played from behind for nearly the entire first half and found themselves trailing 40-36 at the break after a
Brandon McCoy three-pointer. Down by as many as 15 in the second and still facing a double-digit deficit halfway through, Benedictine tied the game on a
Brett Myre free throw with 2:51 to play and took the lead on a pair of tosses from
Tanner Resch just before the one minute mark. North Central scored the first six points of overtime and held on for the victory.
Benedictine shot 43 percent in the game but were outrebounded by 15.
Noah Mason poured in a career best 22. McCoy added 19 and Resch 15.
Benedictine (1-5) will play an exhibition at NCAA Division I Northern Illinois at 6pm on Tuesday in DeKalb before returning to conference play on December 7.
