The Benedictine University men's volleyball team played their second of four matches in the New York area and suffered a three-set loss at the hands of New Paltz.
The teams have played each other regularly in non-conference action with New Paltz winning three of the four matches between the two squads. New Paltz has been in and out of the national rankings all year. The five defeats for Benedictine have all come to nationally recognized programs.
Benedictine hit .145 for the contest and managed double-digit kills in only the first set.
Chase Olson led the team in nearly every category, putting down eight kills, recording an ace and notching four blocks to go with three digs.
Chandler Olson tallied 11 assists with
Spencer VanEngen adding eight.
Zander Feudner paced the defense with six digs while
Max Barbeau logged five. 14 different players appeared in the contest for Benedictine.
Benedictine (4-5) completes the journey on Saturday with two matches at Stevens against the defending national champions, #2 Stevens, led by former Benedictine head coach Dan Buehring and another matchup against Bard.
