The Benedictine University men's volleyball is the last remaining unbeaten team in conference play after going into a hostile environment and rallying from down two sets to knock off Dominican in five sets.
Dominican won the first two sets but Benedictine came back strong, notching 25-19 wins in the third and fourth sets to force a decisive fifth. Benedictine controlled the fifth to win 15-8 and knock off a fired up Dominican squad.
Benedictine hit .321 for the match including .533 in the decisive set.
Brayden Rice led the way with 17 kills.
Chase Olson added 12 and
Cooper Armstrong nine. Olson logged five aces and two blocks.
Spencer VanEngen dished 47 assists and added 10 digs.
Brannen Almarales paced the defense with 11 digs.
The win marked the third in a row against Dominican and the first victory in River Forest in program history. Benedictine has now won seven straight contests overall.
Benedictine (11-6, 6-0) hosts Aurora in another big match on Thursday night.
