The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team slowed down Elmhurst but dropped a 14-4 decision at home on Wednesday night.
Benedictine scored the first goal when
Tyler Sarna netted his eighth of the year less than two minutes into the game. Following consecutive goals by Elmhurst, Benedictine found the net twice more to lead 3-2 on goals from
Ben Zimmerman and Sarna. Elmhurst would tally the next 12 goals to pull away, but was forced to use all of the shot clock on nearly every possession.
Benedictine notched 22 shots, completed 22 clears, and picked up 29 groundballs. Sarna scored twice. Zimmerman logged a goal and two assists.
Colin Doyle made 11 saves in net.
