The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team overcame a sluggish start to tally a 19-11 victory over visiting Augustana College and secure their first win of the year.
Dylan Langley scored man-up to tie the game and Benedictine added two following a late timeout to move ahead and controlled the remainder of the contest. Holding a tight lead at the half, Benedictine erupted in the third quarter scoring nine times including five during a locked in two-minute man-up situation.
Benedictine picked up 48 groundballs in the contest while notching 55 shots and 18 faceoff wins.
Will Robinson scored eight goals and added four assists.
Ben Zimmerman tallied two goals and six assists. Langley scored three times. Starting for the first time in net
Colin Doyle recorded 17 saves.
Benedictine (1-3) hosts Elmhurst on Wednesday night.
