The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team scored the first seven goals and did not look back in posting a 20-8 victory over Marian in conference play on Tuesday night.
Luke Grant opened the scoring less than four minutes into the opening quarter, firing home a feed from
Tyler Sarna.
Will Robinson followed by tallying the next three. Benedictine led 11-3 at the half and opened a 14-goal lead late in the fourth quarter.
Benedictine fired 49 shots, 31 on goal. The team also collected 47 groundballs and won 22 faceoffs. Robinson scored five times. Grant notched five goals as well with two assists.
Ben Zimmerman dished six assists. Jonathan ZImmerman won 15 faceoffs and picked up six groundballs.
Colin Doyle made six saves in net.
James McDonald stopped two in the fourth quarter.
Benedictine (4-8, 3-1 NACC) visits MSOE next Wednesday.
