Men's Hoops Hangs with #17 Oshkosh

The Benedictine University men's basketball team was within two points with just over five minutes remaining but #17 UW-Oshkosh pulled away to win a non-conference game in Wisconsin.

Benedictine fell behind 5-1 early but scored five straight points to take a 6-5 lead on a basket from Brandon McCoy with 14:50 to go in the first
- Connor Glasgow splashed home a three moments later as Benedictine led 9-8
- Oshkosh hit back-to-back threes to lead by five and did not trail the remainder of the game
- Trailing by eight, Benedictine whittled the lead down to four on a layup from Noah Mason with 7:46 left in the half
- Oshkosh led by as many as 16 but consecutive threes from Ryan Sammons and Glasgow pulled Benedictine within 41-32 at the break
- The lead quickly extended to 15 early in the second but Benedictine did not go away
- Ryan Tucker cut the deficit to nine with a three at the 14:42 mark
- Down 13, Sammons opened a 12-0 run that saw Oshkosh fail to score for over five minutes as a pair of free throws from Glasgow brought Benedictine within 57-56
- Back-to-back baskets from Mason were part of a 6-0 run that pulled Benedictine within 66-64 with 5:24 left
- Oshkosh responded with a 10-2 run to again lead by doublle digits and pulled away for the win

Benedictine shot 41.5 percent from the floor in the game and knocked down eight three-pointers while holding a 41-39 edge on the glass
- Oshkosh made 19 threes in the win
- McCoy came off the bench to finish with 17 points, one of four players to reach double digits
- Glasgow added 13 as the bench contributed 36 points
- Sammons logged 12 and Mason 10 to go with eight boards
- Aidan Werth reeled in 10 rebounds
