The Benedictine University men's basketball team wrapped up the 2025 portion of the schedule with a non-conference defeat at Carthage on Tuesday afternoon.

THE DETAILS
- Carthage scored the first seven points of the game and did not trail
- Noah Mason put Benedictine on the board with 16:49 left in the first half
- Trailing 16-7, Benedictine came all the way back to within 20-19 on a jumper from Ryan Sammons with 11:10 to play in the first
- Carthage slowly extended the lead, growing the advantage to as many as 13 points at 48-35
- Benedictine went into the break down 48-39
- Sammons scored the first points of the second half to draw Benedictine within 48-41 but Carthage quickly pushed the lead to 13 and continued to add on
- Benedictine was slowed on offense as the deficit continued to swell

- Sammons paced Benedictine with 14 points while Nathan LaPlant added 13
- Carthage held a 50-36 edge on the glass
- Benedictine did not make a three-pointer in the second half and finished the game 4-of-22 from bonus distance
- Benedictine shot just 18 percent in the second half and finished the contest shooting 33.3 percent
