Men's Basketball Tipped by Marian

The Benedictine University men's basketball team suffered a loss just before the buzzer when visiting Marian University splashed home the game-winner with 0.7 seconds remaining.

THE DETAILS

Marian held the lead for a majority of the first half, leading 19-12 at the 15:12 mark of the opening half
- Noah Mason brought Benedictine within a point at 24-23 with 6:30 left in the first, part of a big game for the sophomore
- Ryan Sammons tied the game just over two minutes later at 29-29 on a three-pointer
- Mason put Benedictine ahead at 34-32 with 1:31 to go, part of a 10-1 run to close the half that saw Benedictine lead 39-33
- Mason scored with 17:44 left in the game to hand Benedictine their largest lead of the game at 46-34
- Benedictine continued to lead by double digits on a three-pointer from Brandon McCoy to make the score 58-48 with 11:52 remaining
- Marian slowly whittled the deficit, pulling within 63-61 with 5:34 to go
- Benedictine quickly responded with seven straight including threes from Sammons and Ryan Tucker to make the score 70-61 at the 4:26 mark
- The visitors tied the game with 40 seconds left and converted on a second chance opportunity to grab the game-winner
