The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team won for the first time in conference play, securing a 13-8 victory over visiting Edgewood on Saturday afternoon.
Edgewood scored first and held a slim 2-1 lead before
Dylan Skura tied the game on a pass from
Moussa Diallo with 9:02 to go in the first quarter. The goal was the first of four straight as Benedictine led 5-2 at halftime. Two quick goals in the fourth brought Edgewood to within 8-7, but
Dylan Langley set up
Luke Grant with the first of three straight as Benedictine tallied five of the last six goals to pull away.
Benedictine finished with 39 shots, 28 on goal, and picked up 37 groundballs while winning 16 faceoffs.
Luis Hernandez led the attack with four goals and an assist. Aidan Elliott, Langley and
Robert Schroeder all scored twice.
Colin Doyle earned the win in goal, stopping 10 shots.
Beneditine (2-8, 1-4 NACC) travels to Iowa to face Cornell on Wednesday night.
