The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team slowed down Kalamazoo but dropped a 10-5 decision in Michigan on Saturday.
Kalamazoo did not trail in the contest, scoring the first two goals. The hosts never led by more than three goals until the final quarter. Aiden Elliot scored the first Benedictine goal late in the opening quarter. Kalamazoo led 4-2 at the half. Three of the final four goals of the game were scored by Kalamazoo to pull away.
Benedictine won 16 faceoffs and picked up 39 groundballs. 
Jack Whalon was a perfect 16-for-16 on faceoff attempts and scooped 12 groundballs. Elliot added an assist to become the lone player to tally multiple points in the loss. 
Colin Doyle recorded 13 saves in net.
Benedictine (1-5) is off until hosting MSOE on March 19 in a conference clash.
