The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team collected their fifth straight win, recording the first shutout in team history in the process with a 22-0 win over Marian on Senior Day Saturday afternoon.
It didn't take Benedictine long to open the scoring as
Aiden Elliott scored just over a minute into the contest. The goal was the first of eight in the first quarter. Elliott was one of 11 players to score a goal. Elliott finished with three goals and four assists.
Luis Hernandez tallied five goals and added two assists. Leif Sigmond tallied three goals.
Benedictine recorded 50 shots in the game. Benedictine was a perfect 23-for-23 in clear attempts and won 14 faceoffs while scooping 31 groundballs.
Jack Whalon, who has won the last two NACC Specialst of the Week awards, won nine faceoffs and picked up six groundballs.
Colin Doyle recorded three saves in net during the shutout and caused three turnovers along with
Dominick Flores.
Benedictine (6-8, 4-4 NACC) travels to Illinois Tech on Wednesday.
