The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team saw a five-game win streak end with an 11-5 defeat at Illinois Tech on Wednesday night.
Benedictine took a lead into the half but Illinois Tech outscored Benedictine 9-2 in the second half to grab the win.
Dylan Skura opened the scoring and consecutive goals from
Luis Hernandez and
AJ Smerz made the score 3-1. Illinois Tech scored in the final minute before the half, the first of 10 straight to streak to the victory.
Benedictine logged 27 shots, 20 on goal. Benedictine was a perfect 14-for-14 on clears and collected 29 groundballs while winning 16 faceoffs. Five different individuals tallied points for Benedictine.
Colin Doyle recorded 10 saves in goal.
Jack Whalon was 14-of-17 in faceoffs and scooped 15 groundballs.
Benedictine (6-9, 4-5 NACC) visits Lawrence on Saturday.
