The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team dropped a low-scoring affair at Lawrence, suffering an 8-4 setback.
Benedictine built a 2-0 lead in the opening quarter on goals from
Luke Grant and
Dylan Langley. Following a Lawrence goal,
Luis Hernandez made the score 3-1. Lawrence responded by scoring five consecutive goals to nab the win. Grant broke up the run in the fourth but two more goals put the game away.
Benedictine finished with 29 shots and 28 groundballs, winning eight faceoffs. Grant scored twice.
Jack Whalon was 8-for-14 in the faceoff circle and snared eight groundballs.
Colin Doyle finished with eight saves.
Benedictine (6-10, 4-6 NACC) hosts Aurora in the regular season finale on Wednesday afternoon.
