Men's Hoops Drops Home Contest to NACC Leaders

The Benedictine University men's basketball team took on the preseason favorites in the conference and dropped a home affair as Concordia Wisconsin pulled away in the second half.

Benedictine fell behind early in the contest as Concordia Wisconsin opened the game on a 7-0 run
- The visitors stayed in front until Benedictine embarked on a 6-0 run, tying the game at 17-17 on a pair of free throws from Noah Mason with 11:35 left in the half
- The contest was back and forth for the next several minutes
- Benedictine used another 6-0 mini run to open a seven-point edge at 37-30 on a basket from Nathan LaPlant, a Mason free throw and a triple from Connor Glasgow
- Concordia Wisconsin seized momentum by using an 8-0 spurt to take the lead and closed the half on a 12-2 run to lead by three at 42-39 at the break
- The momentum continued into the second half with Concordia Wisconsin opening the second with six straight
- Ryan Sammons knocked down a three-pointer to bring Benedictine within 52-46 with 16:19 left but Concordia Wisconsin again quickly answered, pushing the lead out to double figures
- The lead continued to grow and Benedictine pulled no closer than 11 points the rest of the game

Benedictine finished the game shooting 41.9 percent but was just 1-of-11 from three-point range in the second half when the guests outscored Benedictine 48-31
- Benedictine tallied 36 points in the paint
- Mason paced Benedictine with 22 points and 17 rebounds, a career high
- Glasgow added 14 to go with six rebounds, connecting on four triples
- Aidan Werth scored 10 off the bench
