The Benedictine University men's lacrosse team opened the 2026 season in dominant fashion, recording just the second shutout in program history with a decisive home victory over Augustana.

Benedictine established control from the opening faceoff and never looked back.
- Dylan Langley put the Eagles on the board less than three minutes into the contest, finishing a feed from AJ Smerz.
- Just over two minutes later, Aiden Elliott doubled the advantage to 2–0 off an assist from Jack Dardis.
- Benedictine closed the first quarter with a 4–0 lead and carried that momentum into the second, adding four more goals to take an 8–0 cushion into halftime.
- Dylan Skura and Smerz accounted for the lone goals in the third quarter, before the Eagles capped the scoring with three more in the fourth to seal the 13–0 result.

- Benedictine outshot Augustana 54–15, placing 26 attempts on goal.
- The Eagles controlled possession with 31 ground balls and converted 22 of 26 clear attempts.
- Seven different players found the back of the net in the balanced offensive effort.
- Luke Grant and Langley led the way with three goals apiece, while Grant added two assists.
