All good things must come to an end and Benedictine University's women's tennis squad found that out the hard way with an 8-1 loss to Aurora University. The setback dropped the Eagles' overall record to 6-5 and 5-3 in the Northern Athletics Conference.
The match also snapped a four-match win streak by Benedictine.
The lone win of the day for the Eagles came at the No. 1 doubles position. The tandem of
Ewelina Stachulak and
Lisa Carrillo jumped on Aurora's duo of Lauren Hastings and Becky Papke by an 8-4 score in the pro set.
The balance of the match decisions all went the way of the Spartans. AU swept all the singles matches in straight sets, as well as winning the Nos. 2 and 3 doubles spots.
