LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's tennis team picked up an 8-0 win over Rockford College on Sunday morning but fell to Edgewood College 6-3 in the second match of the day.
MaryClare Loughery and
Lina Savickas beat RC 8-0 at No. 1 doubles while
Ashley Shall and
Nicole Choinka won 8-2 at No. 2 doubles. All singles players were also victorious including
Ashley Shall winning 6-, 6-2 at No. 3 and Tolia Sanika winning 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5.
Against Edgewood, Loughery and Savickas pulled out an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles while
Vivianna Iway and Choinka won 8-6 at No. 2. Going into singles play up 2-1, Edgewood went on to win five out of six singles.
Anna Savio won 7-6 (7-4), 3-6, 7-5 at No. 6 singles.
Benedictine is back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 21 when they host Aurora University at 3:00 p.m.
