LISLE, Ill. - After being down 2-1 after doubles, the Benedictine University women's tennis team went on to win four singles matches to defeat Aurora University 5-4 on Wednesday night at the BenU Tennis Courts.
Ashley Shall and
Anna Savio were the lone BenU doubles winners with an 8-6 win over the Spartans. Down 2-1 going into singles play, the Eagles took four of six singles matches including wins from
MaryClare Loughery at No. 1 singles (6-4, 5-7, 6-3) and
Ashley Shall at No. 4 singles (6-3, 6-3).
Nicole Choinka defeated AU 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 5 spot and at No. 6 Savio won 6-2, 6-3.
Benedictine is back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 27 when they travel to St. Francis for a 3:00 pm contest.
