The Benedictine University tennis team clinched a spot in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference tournament on Tuesday, defeating conference foe Dominican 7-2. With the win, the team is now 6-5 on the season and currently sits in fifth place in the NACC.
In the singles portion, the Eagles won five of the six matchups.
Vivianna Iway won the fourth match 6-1, 6-0, and
Anna MacLachlan came back after losing the first set 0-6 to win 6-3, 6-2 in the sixth match. In doubles, BenU also won two of the three matchups. Iway and
Kam Haifleigh won the first doubles match 8-2, and
Bhavana Movva and Micah Goyao wre victorious 8-3 in the second match.
Tennis takes the court next on Tuesday, October 1 with a non-conference match at North Central at 4:00 p.m. The NACC Conference Championships takes place in the spring.
