The Benedictine women's tennis team earned its first victory of the season this evening, defeating Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference for Concordia-Chicago 8-1 on the road.

BenU was extremely impressive in the singles portion, winning all six singles matches. Micah Goyao,
Vivianna Iway,
Bhavana Movva,
Kam Haifleigh,
Anna Savio, and
Anna MacLachlan all earned victories, with Savio and MacLachlan both winning 6-0, 6-0 sweeps.

In the doubles competitions, the number one doubles paring of Iway and Haifleigh defeated CUC 8-2. Also, Savio and MacLachlan come out on top 8-1 in the third doubles match.

The victory was also the first of
Jonathon Schmidt's career as Benedictine's Head Coach. Next up for the tennis team is two more NACC road matches on Saturday, as the team will travel to Wisconsin Lutheran for a 9 a.m. match and to Alverno for a 2 p.m. match.
