Benedictine tennis recorded a big win earlier today, defeating Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference foe Wisconsin Lutheran 5-4. The Eagles moved to 2-2 on the season and defeated a Warriors team that has gone 20-2 in conference play over the last two seasons.
The doubles portion of the competition proved to be the difference, with the Eagles wining 2-1.
Vivianna Iway and
Kam Haifleigh came out on top 8-5 in the first match, and Micah Goyao and
Bhavana Movva won the second match also by an 8-5 score.
In the singles portion, the Eagles and Warriors split 3-3. BenU won singles matches two, three, and four, as
Bhavana Movva,
Vivianna Iway, and
Kam Haifleigh all were victorious.
Tennis also had a match scheduled at Alverno for the afternoon, but it was canceled due to the weather. BenU takes the court again on Tuesday when they face Aurora.
