The Benedictine University tennis team was defeated in its first match of the Spring season, falling to Division II Quincy University 9-0 at the Aurora Vaughan Center on Saturday.
In the singles round, team captain
Kam Haifleigh (defeated 6-1, 6-1) and Trisha Russo (defeated 6-0, 6-1) were able to compete in the second and sixth slots. The most competitive doubles tandem of the day for the Eagles was the first group of Haifleigh and Micah Goyao, who fell 8-1.
The Eagles will compete at the NACC Championships on Tuesday, April 29 as the tournament's fifth seed, taking on fourth-seeded Aurora.
