The Benedictine University tennis opened the season on Saturday, splitting a pair of Northern Athletics College Conference matchups at the Aurora Vaughan Center. BenU defeated Milwaukee School of Engineering in the morning 8-1 and fell to Concordia University Wisconsin in the afternoon 5-4.
Against MSOE, the Eagles won all six singles competitions. In her first collegiate match, 
Andrea Goyao won out of the first spot 6-3, 6-2. 
Kam Haifleigh (second), 
Micah Goyao (third), and 
Feena Chirayath (fifth) also won in two sets, while 
Anna Savio (fourth) and 
Anna MacLachlan (sixth) were victorious in three.
In doubles, BenU was victorious in both the first and third pairings. 
Andrea Goyao and Haifleigh won the first match 8-3, while Chirayath and MacLachlan won the third match 8-0.
Benedictine split the singles matches against Concordia-Wisconsin, with 
Andrea Goyao (6-1, 6-1), Haifleigh (6-1, default), and 
Micah Goyao (6-0, 6-1) winning the first, second, and third matches. In doubles, the second pairing of 
Micah Goyao and Savio were victorious 8-8, 7-1.
Tennis is back in action on Wednesday, September 3 against NACC foe Dominican University in Wheaton, Illinois at 3:30 p.m.
