The Benedictine University tennis team was able to get back into the win column on Saturday. After yesterday's loss to Aurora, the Eagles defeated Lakeland College 9-0 to end the regular season portion of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference schedule.
Benedictine (7-3) took all six singles matches and all three doubles matches on Saturday, giving the team its third 9-0 win of the season.
Micah Goyao won convincingly 6-1, 6-0 in the third spot to win her ninth match of the season.
Andrea Goyao (6-1, 6-0) won her ninth match of the year in the first singles spot, while
Kam Haifleigh (6-1, 6-1 in the second spot) and
Feena Chirayath (6-3, 6-1 in the fifth spot) won for the eight time this season.
In doubles, both the first and second pairings won 8-0. Haifleigh and
Andrea Goyao moved to 8-2 in the first spot, while
Micah Goyao and Chirayath won for the fifth time in the second spot.
BenU finished the NACC's regular season schedule tied for third with both Aurora University and Dominican University. To end the Fall portion of the schedule, tennis will play a non-conference match at North Central College on Saturday. The NACC Tournament begins on April 28.
