The Benedictine University closed the game with 14 consecutive points to erase an eight-point deficit and win on the road at Concordia Chicago by a 75-69 score.
Concordia Chicago held a 69-61 advantage with 4:29 left before the comeback started.
Ryan Tucker started the run with a layup and scored eight points in the run. Following an and-one from
Patrick Mayfield, Tucker knocked down a three to even the score with 2:25 left and moments later splashed home another triple to put Benedictine ahead. Benedictine led by 15 points in the first half at 23-8. Concordia Chicago scored nine consecutive points late in the half to pull closer and responded with eight more following a basket from
Noah Mason to take the lead and held a 38-37 advantage at the break. The contest featured four ties and seven lead changes.
Benedictine shot 57 percent in the second half and finished the game at 44.6 percent while holding a 35-30 edge on the glass. Mayfield led three players in double figures with a game high 20.
Tanner Resch notched 19 with Tucker scoring 10 off the bench, eight of which came during the run to close the game.Â
Benedictine (4-9, 3-3 NACC) is on the road again Saturday with a contest at Concordia Wisconsin.
