Ben Lockton is the school and conference career leader with 50 career tackles for loss over just two seasons and still ranks in the top-50 all-time in NCAA Division III history.
Lockton was named as an All-American in 2011 and was twice selected as the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Year, earning first team all-conference honors both years (2011-12). Consistently finding his way into the backfield, the Michigan native amassed 92 tackles in 2011, recording 25 tackles for loss along with 5.5 sacks. Lockton led the team with 83 tackles from the defensive line in 2012. Benedictine became the first school to win back-to-back NACC titles in 2011, reaching the NCAA Playoffs for a second straight year. Lockton recorded a tackle for loss in 18 of his 21 career games played including a then school and conference record 5.5 in his first game with Benedictine.
Lockton played with a Benedictine Hall of Famer (John Borsellino), was coached by a Hall of Famer (Jon Cooper) and was also coached by current Benedictine head coach Jim Schroeder, who was the defensive coordinator.at the time.Â
